V100

   Restoration Project

This is what the finished vehicle will look like:  Incorporating a single man hydraulic operated turret with a 25mm M242 chain gun.  The powerplant will be upgraded from the original Chrysler V8 to a Cummins Diesel.

Below are the original unit markings before being sand blasted off.

Hull, before and after sand blasting.  A temporary set of wheels and tires were affixed for towing purposes.

Another before and after:  Looking aft toward engine compartment and rear hatch.

Looking forward at drivers compartment.
Once the sand blasting was done, cutting and welding could begin.
This picture shows the tracks of various 25-30mm projectiles as they sliced through the thin 1/4" Cad-alloy armor.

Left side 25-30mm projectile exit holes and patches.  Note cracks in armor.

25-30mm projectile entry hole and patch at forward base of starboard crew hatch.

25-30mm entry hole and cracks between starboard crew hatch and aft wheel well.  Now patched
Another 25-30mm entry hole in starboard firing port.  The armor was too hard to re-shape by heating so a large patch was installed.
Belly and wheel wells epoxy primed, ready for shocks and axles .
The hull with about 90% of the welding completed and spot primed; June 21.
